Residents of Paschal neighborhood met to discuss local neighborhood concerns Saturday morning.
The meeting was led by Dwayne Kennemore, president of Paschal Neighborhood Association, and James Hawk, secretary of Paschal Neighborhood Association.
Residents decided yards signs are necessary to inform neighbors when upcoming neighborhood meetings are going to be held. A motion to spend $200 for new signs was passed and association officers promised to look into the purchase of the signs.
The next Paschal neighborhood association meeting is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Park Temple Baptist Church, on 2832 Townsend Drive.
Addressing construction issues, residents on Forest Park have lines on the road again even though the lanes are tight with cars parked on the street, Kennemore said.
The second phase of sidewalk and curb construction on Cantey should begin at the end of August or beginning of September, Kennemore said.
Hawks addressed the Berry Street Initiative plans with information he had received at previous city meetings and discussed implications the plans may have on Paschal residents.
Lastly, in recognition of National Night Out in Texas, a neighborhood party will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011, in the parking lot of Park Temple Baptist Church. Refreshments will be provided.
