Teams that had byes this week include Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Oakland, the New York Jets and Tampa Bay. So now, on to the guys I’m high and low on for week nine.
Guys I’m High On:
Eli Manning QB New York Giants at New England-New England is third to last in giving up points to opposing quarterbacks. Eli Manning and company have been hot and will not be stopped by the porous Patriots defense.
Matt Ryan QB Atlanta at Indianapolis-Matt Ryan and the Falcons need to turn their season around, and this is the game to start against a woeful Colts team. Ryan now has all of his weapons healthy, and this should be an all-aerial attack.
Fred Jackson RB Buffalo vs. New York Jets-Jackson has been one of the top backs this season and has a favorable matchup against the Jets. With the Jets knowing they need to stop the pass against one of the most potent passing attacks, Jackson should be able to run all over this defense.
Roddy White WR Atlanta at Indianapolis-White is the focal point of this offense and will get his looks from quarterback Matt Ryan. The Colts have been terrible against the pass, and White will be open all day.
Guys I’m Low On:
Ben Roethlisberger QB Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore-Baltimore is tough. And even though Pittsburgh has been better as of late, Baltimore’s defense will destroy this offense. Even if Big Ben can keep this game close, it won’t be pretty.
Ryan Fitzpatrick QB Buffalo vs. New York Jets-Fitzpatrick has been great this season, but the Jets have been stout against the pass. With Jackson in the backfield, the Bills should be sticking to the ground game.
Rashard Mendenhall RB Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore-Mendenhall hasn’t been great this season, minus his huge game a couple weeks ago. He’s not going to be good this week at Baltimore, which has been unstoppable on defense.
Chris Johnson RB Tennessee vs. Cincinnati-Johnson has been terrible this season and is in danger of losing his starting job to his backup, Javon Ringer. Cincinnati’s defense is a top five defense this year and should be able to bottle up the struggling Johnson.
Anquan Boldin WR Baltimore at Pittsburgh-As good as Baltimore has been on defense, Pittsburgh has been equally as good. Boldin has been good with Flacco as his quarterback, but Pittsburgh should be able to slow down this offense.
