A United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel has been named associate vice chancellor for facilities. 

In an email sent to faculty and staff on Thursday, Brian Gutierrez, vice chancellor for finance and administration, announced Todd Waldvogel as the new vice chancellor of facilities after an "extensive interview process."  Waldvogel will begin Aug. 1. 

Waldvogel spent 20 years in the United States Air Force and most recently retired as Lieutenant Colonel in the role of Deputy Mission Support Group Commander. 

Waldvogel earned a earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the Air Force Academy and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M. 

The search for a new vice chancellor of facilities began at the end of 2011 when Will Stallworth retired after 23 years.

 Dick Bryan is serving as interim associate vice chancellor of facilities and will continue to do so during Waldvogel's transition period, according to the email. 

He and his wife Angela along with their two children will be relocating to Fort Worth from Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
