Paschal will look to break its 19-game district losing streak in its last home game on Friday.
Paschal will play North Crowley, which has a 2-6 record in 2012. North Crowley also has a 2-3 mark in district play, giving the North Crowley Panthers a tie for fourth place. The top four teams from the district advance to the state playoffs.
Paschal has the same record as North Crowley, but the Paschal Panthers are 0-5 in district games.
Paschal has to play a perfect game to have a chance to win, Paschal head coach Matt Cook said.
North Crowley has won seven of its last eight games against the Paschal Panthers, with Paschal’s only win coming in 2009.
North Crowley senior quarterback Elbert Speed has a combined 366 yards running and passing this season. Sophomore quarterback Given Tippens-Hill has also thrown for 493 yards. Cook said he hopes to see less of Speed at quarterback because his running game is tough to stop.
Both junior quarterback Gibson Duwe and sophomore quarterback William Floyd will play for Paschal, Cook said. Duwe showed signs of rust against Arlington last week, Cook said. Duwe missed four games with a concussion before last week.
The game will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday at Farrington Field.
