TCU trails Prairie View A&M 20-17 at halftime after falling into a 14-0 hole early in the half.
Guard Jarvis Ray led the Frogs with nine points and forward Garlon Green grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Guard Carl Blair had nine points for the Panthers.
Prairie View A&M jumped to a 10-0 lead just over two minutes into the game. Guards Blair and Jourdan DeMuynck scored the Panthers’ first ten points. The Panthers extended their lead to 14-0 before TCU got on the board.
Ray scored the Frogs’ first points on a pair of free throws with 13:54 left in the first half. Guard Clyde Smith followed with a jumper to cut the lead to 14-5. Ray's 3-pointer and Nate Butler Lind's bucket cut the lead to six with 7:47 left.
TCU continued to chip away at the lead and a Ray 3-pointer with 2:55 left brought the Frogs within one at 16-15. Green put TCU 17-16 on a jumper with 1:25 left in the half.
Blair regained the lead 20-17 for the Panthers with 27.9 seconds left after being fouled on a 3-point attempt. TCU was unable to score on its final possession of the half.
