At the final game of the 2012 TCU football season, 250 seniors got the chance to be on the field to celebrate.

The senior students formed the “human tunnel” for the football team to run through before the game and they sung the TCU Alma Mater with the team after the game.

The event was a reward for the seniors, Cynthia Walsh, the associate dean for student development said.

Senior finance major Samson McClane said it was an exciting experience. He said being on the field was a great ending to his time in the student section of Amon G. Carter Stadium

The seniors also received a towel with the message “Ready to Change the World” on it, Walsh said. Participating in the event also entered seniors into a sweepstakes for an autographed football.

The winner of the sweepstakes will be announced Monday, Walsh said.

Seniors had to pick up a wristband on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, she said.

Student Development Services sponsored the event, Walsh said. They hope to make this event a yearly tradition.

Walsh said she hopes to do a similar event for first-year students.. An event with the first-year students would likely take place during the first home game of the season.

This game will have the last free admission for senior students, she said.

McClane said he does not look forward to paying for tickets for TCU home games in the future, but, the high prices will not keep him away.
