The McLeland Tennis Center, 1600 W. Seminary Drive just south of the 109, is celebrating its relaunch Saturday, Oct. 22 after being acquired by a new owner.
“We are doing a lot of remodeling and building up. New programs are being introduced, new classes and new merchandise and we want to celebrate that,” said Alex Maldonado, McLeland’s general manager.
The event will include a day of free classes, drills, and prizes for all ages and experience levels. It will also have bounce houses, face painting and music for those not quite ready to hit the court.
“The benefit is for the community,” Maldonado said. “We want to make sure everyone is welcome to play on their tennis facility. Tennis is a beautiful sport that should be accessible to everybody.”
The event will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
