Boschini announces ‘R-Rated’ semester

Chancellor Victor Boschini kicked off the semester by announcing the “R-Rated” theme for the semester and presenting the Chancellor’s Staff Award for Outstanding Service during the annual Opening Luncheon on Friday. Boschini said the “R-Rated” theme stands for rights, responsibilities and respect.

“The student body is well aware of their rights, but we would like them to learn responsibility as well,” Boschini said.

Boschini said the theme “is designed to encourage dialogue and respect for others.”

Boschini also announced the recipient of the Chancellor’s Staff Award as Margaret Kelly, executive director of community projects in marketing and communications.

“She is known as a consummate professional, a master at getting people to work together,” Boschini said. “She is recognized both on campus and outside of TCU for her events and marketing expertise.”

When accepting her award, Kelly said, “I wasn’t planning to speak. I wasn’t planning to win. I have worked with all of the fellow nominees. I respect them and I wish that they could all be up here with me.”
