Weather update: Area under freeze warning

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has been placed under a freeze warning until Tuesday morning as temperatures continue to drop, said Jennifer Dunn, a forecaster for the National Weather Service. The warning is in effect from 3 a.m. until 9 a.m. Tuesday, as overnight lows will range from the upper 20s to the lower 30s across the Metroplex, Dunn said.

A high near 73 is expected for Tuesday and wind speeds should slow to about 5-10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday’s high is expected to rise to around 80, but wind gusts will also increase to as high as 25 mph, according to the NWS.

With the exception of some high clouds, skies will remain pretty clear until Saturday, Dunn said. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected for the area on Saturday night, according to the NWS.
