2010 Winter Olympics kicks off in Vancouver

Although Fort Worth was the site of a variety of snow sports Thursday, a much bigger sporting event will be kicking off in Vancouver, Canada tonight.

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place at Vancouver’s BC Place. This year marks the first indoor Opening Ceremony.

Coverage of the 2010 Winter Games can be followed on NBC.com. Local NBC affiliates are scheduled to air more than 200 hours of Winter Games coverage, including ice skating, speed skating, alpine skiing and more.

USA Network will air live coverage of Olympic hockey and curling events.

Tonight’s Opening Ceremony is scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m. on NBC, followed by a full schedule of snowy events starting Saturday.
