Two TCU football commits shine in national competition

Two TCU football commitments from the class of 2012 made the finals in the Nike SPARQ Rating National Championship Wednesday, according to Craig Haubert of ESPNRise.

The competition pits the top high school recruits around the country and has them complete in drills that test agility, speed and strength, according to the Nike Football website.

The two verbal commits for the Horned Frogs, RB Daje’ Johnson and ATH Kolbe Listenbee, made it to the finals, where only ten players remained from a field of thousands earlier in the year.

Brian Stumpf of ESPNRISE reported that Johnson recorded a SPARQ rating of 146.52, a new record. Stumpf also reported that Johnson was clocked in the 40-yard-dash at a blazing fast time of 4.33 seconds.

To compare, the second fastest time recorded in the NFL Combine earlier this year was 4.34 seconds, according to NFL.com.
