Classes have resumed on campus after lift of a tornado warning this afternoon.
The severe weather warning remains in effect until 8 p.m.
TCU underwent a tornado warning and a severe thunderstorm warning until 2:45 p.m, according to the National Weather Service.
Classes were suspended until the tornado warning was lifted, according to TCU Alert.
Weather service advisories issued Tuesday said storm spotters and radar shows separate "large and extremely dangerous" tornadoes both south of Dallas and Fort Worth.
The weather service says "considerable damage" has been reported near Cleburne, south of Fort Worth, and Lancaster, south of Dallas.
Market Square employees asked diners to go to the first floor of the Brown-Lupton University Union at 1 p.m. because of the warnings.
Students and faculty in Scharbauer Hall were escorted to the first floor by faculty members in orange vests.
