The TCU men’s tennis team swept Texas A&M Corpus Christi 4-0 Wednesday evening.

The 4-0 win was the team’s third straight match sweep, which improved the team’s record to 4-1.

Head coach David Roditi said that the team had been playing great, but emphasized it was not a time to get overconfident with tough competition scheduled for this weekend.

“I was impressed tonight by the way the team handled tough nervous situations in the doubles round … we came out on top and carried that momentum into the singles round,” Roditi said.

TCU came from behind on every court during doubles, with victories by two doubles teams.  Both Arnau Dachs and Orlando Superlando and Nick Chappell and Will Stein won their matches after exciting tiebreakers.

“Tiebreakers are mentally challenging, you just have to stay in it and that is what we did,” said sophomore Nick Chappell.

The 67th-ranked Horned Frogs hope to carry their momentum and focus from the win into the next few days of practice before taking on No. 16 Texas A&M Saturday, Roditi said.
