Student Body President Joshua Simpson and Intercom will be meeting with the Board of Trustees Thursday morning to discuss diversity on campus.

"We're going to make sure that the [Board of Trustees] understands that diversity is an increasingly important issue to students at TCU," Student Body President Joshua Simpson said.

Intercom meets with the Board of Trustees once every semester, Simpson said.

Simpson said a student report will be presented with topics that include diversity, transfer student issues, limited leadership positions on campus, financial aid and tuition. The report will be shown to the Student Relations Committee of the Board of Trustees.  

Simpson said he will also give updates on SGA, specifically about the SGA reform plan, "The Plan for 100," and the upcoming elections.

Simpson also plans to discuss diversity and the diversity commission, which is a program that SGA started to explore diversity at TCU. 

Simpson said he also plans to discuss the importance of financial aid and tuition and keeping the tuition rate as low as possible.

Jason Powell, Interfraternity Council president, said he will also be attending the Board of Trustees meeting for the first time. 

"Intercom will be there to offer opinions and give the student perspective on what is discussed," Powell, a junior entrepreneurial management major, said. 

Intercom convener Paige Wells said members of the Board of Trustees will get the opportunity to find out information directly from students.   

"At the meeting they ask us a lot of questions. They want to know about our personal experiences at TCU," Wells said, "It's really a chance for them to hear our voice."
