The TCU women's soccer team played 25th ranked LSU to a scoreless draw in a double overtime match Friday night in Baton Rouge, LA., bringing the Frogs' record to 1-1-1 on the season.
Goalkeeper Vittoria Arnold earned her first clean sheet of the season by making three saves. TCU tried to break through by putting four shots on goal but LSU keeper Megan Kinneman proved the better each time.
Head coach Eric Bell was complimentary of Arnold after the match, stating that "tonight was the best game I've seen Vittoria play."
"She handled the ball well and kept us in the game."
After a regulation that was marked more by the defenses of both teams, the overtime periods provided quality chances for both sides although they saw those attempts saved or go just wide of goal.
LSU outshot TCU 17-11 but the Frogs had the better on shots on goal, with a slight 4-3 advantage in that category.
Overall, Bell said he was pleased with both the result and the way the team competed through two overtimes.
"If we [play like] that Sunday against Houston Baptist, I like our chances," he said.
The Frogs will travel back to the state of Texas for the Sunday night match. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sorrels Field.
