College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

UNT leads TCU 2-0 at half

North Texas struck first with just under 26 minutes to play in the first half when Mean Green forward Rachel Holden slid the ball past the outstretched arms of TCU goalie Vittoria Arnold.

The Mean Green scored again minutes later when Amber Haggerty took a right-to-left cross from Karla Pineda and punched it in past the diving Arnold.

TCU’s best opportunity of the half came when Rebekah Foreman found herself open 20 yards in front of the North Texas goal and fired a shot toward the left goal post, only to see it deflected out of bounds by UNT goalie Haley Riley.

TCU took five first-half shots compared to UNT’s four, but UNT has a three-to-nothing advantage in saves and has managed to capitalize on two shots.

UNT leads TCU 2-0 at the half.
