In addition to the stress of grades, graduation and college applications, some high school seniors face technological issues with the Common Application this year.

The Common Application is an online tool created to relieve stress by providing students with an efficient and time saving opportunity: one college application for all.

According to the official website for the Common Application, more than 500 public and private college and universities accept this application. The Common Application serves more than one million students and university officials every year.

As a result, the Common Application Facebook page has been flooded with comments from parents and high school students venting their frustrations with the service.

One person commented on the page, “I cannot believe one organization is capable of creating this much stress to so many people!”

The Common Application team is working to fix each issue one at a time and suggest users seek the advice of their technical support team by using the Help Center link on the application, according to replies from the Common Application Facebook page administrators.

But TCU has recognized the issue and is doing what that they can to help students deal with this issue.

Kyle Cochran, an employee in the Mary Wright Admission Center, said admission officials are doing their best to deal with each student’s issue regarding the Common Application.

“We have relied on continued diligence in customer service as well as lots of hard work from the technology coordinators in our office to adapt,” Cochran said.

According to the Admission Website, the deadline for the TCU Common Application for both early action and early decision applicants has been extended to Nov. 8.
