The TCU women’s basketball team dropped their second straight game Tuesday night, losing 65-53 to the eleventh-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls.

The Frogs are now 11-6 on the season and 2-3 during Big 12 conference play. Sophomore guard Zahna Medley scored a team-high 17 points and recorded 3 steals in the loss.

After scoring the first 12 points of the contest, the Cowgirls never looked back, never once trailing and leading by as many as 16 points during the course of the game.

For the second game in a row, TCU looked outmatched for most of the night against a ranked conference opponent on the road. The team lost 80-46 to seventh-ranked Baylor (14-2, 4-0 Big 12) on Saturday night.

The Frogs missed 16 of their first 19 shots and trailed 37-22 at halftime.

In the second half, TCU stopped Oklahoma State on eight consecutive possessions and trailed by only five with 14:27 left in the game before Cowgirls guard Tiffany Bias hit a fast break three-pointer.

Bias had a game-high 23 points and hit four shots from behind the arc.

The Frogs continually fought but never managed to get the game within striking distance after Bias’s three-pointer. They outscored Oklahoma State 31-28 in the second half.

Senior center Latricia Lovings, who currently leads the Big 12 in blocked shots with 61, struggled on offense for most of the night, missing all seven of her shots in 30 minutes of action.

Despite the loss, the TCU bench played well, outscoring the Oklahoma State reserves 25-14. Freshman guard Jada Butts scored 12 points off the bench.

The Frogs now look forward to a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Texas Longhorns (11-5, 2-2 Big 12) at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
