“Dramedy,” a contemporary art exhibition featuring “bizarre humor,” brought various forms of art to Fort Worth.

The exhibition premiered March 29, bringing comic and caricature art to the Fort Worth Contemporary Arts (FWCA) gallery.

Twelve artists are featured in the exhibition, which includes mediums such as painting, video and photography.

Public Relations and Media Manager for the gallery, Bradly Brown, said “Dramedy” is one of the largest shows ever featured at FWCA.

“Most other shows in the gallery are single artist shows,” said Brown. “‘Dramedy’ is very diverse with different styles of painting, from abstract to modern.”

About 150 people attended the exhibit’s opening weekend and Gallery Manager Devon Nowlin said he believes those numbers will rise throughout the month.

Nowlin said visitors should expect to see great contemporary art that they will not see anywhere else in Fort Worth.

“We have a freedom to exhibit artwork that a lot of commercial galleries and museums don’t or perhaps would not show,” said Nowlin.

Admission for the exhibition is free. “Dramedy” is open Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

The gallery offers group visits during their off-hours, which can be made by appointment.

Located at the corner of Berry Street and Greene Avenue, “Dramedy” will be open until May 10. More information on the exhibit can be found on the Art Galleries at TCU website.
