Hall of Fame baseball player Yogi Berra coined the old sports adage that a game isn’t “over until it’s over.”

The TCU’s women’s basketball team must’ve had that in mind Wednesday, as the Frogs erased a 23-point halftime deficit to beat the Iowa State Cyclones, 86-84.

Down 44-21, the Frogs scored 65 points in the second half behind a balanced scoring attack led by junior Zahna Medley.

The 5’6 point guard led the team with 21 points, shooting 11 for 13 from the free-throw line.

TCU guard Veja Hamilton and forward Chelsea Prince each added 16 points, and Donielle Breaux added 14 to lead the Frogs to their two-point victory.

Iowa State had the better field goal percentage in the game, out-rebounded the Frogs 41 to 31, and had six more assists than TCU.

But the Horned Frogs forced 21 Cyclone turnovers, helping TCU close the deficit in the wild second half.

TCU lost its Big 12 opener to Texas Tech 52-37 on Sunday.

Wednesday’s win over Iowa State gives TCU its first Big 12 win of the 2014-2015 season and improved the team’s record to 9-4.

The Frogs host No. 16 Oklahoma State on Saturday, with tip-off at the University Recreation Center scheduled for 6 p.m.
