The men’s golf team closed play at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Arizona on Monday. After struggling in the second round, TCU fought back to finish seventh overall.
The Horned Frogs have now placed in the top 10 in every tournament this season.
Sophomore Chelso Barrett was the highest individual finisher for the Frogs. He carded an even-par 72 in the final round, rolling in four birdies to end in a tie for sixth place out of 83 competitors.
With the performance, Barrett earned his third top-10 finish and 11th round of par or better this season.
Sophomore Giulio Castagnara and junior Paul Barjon shot a 3-over 75 and 5-over 77, respectively, to tie for 30th place.
After shooting a 6-over 78 in the first round, senior Andrew Presley played an excellent final round carding an even-par 72 in the final round. He also hit four birdies, three of which came on the front nine holes.
Presley finished in a tie for 52nd place.
Three-time All-American Julien Brun struggled, carding a 5-over 77. Though he knocked in three birdies, the senior ended in a tie for 59th place.
The Horned Frogs next head out to Las Vegas, Nevada to compete at the Southern Highlands Collegiate from March 9 to March 11.
