A nationwide religious women’s organization taking off on campuses throughout the United States is making a name for itself at TCU.

Brought to Fort Worth in January of 2016, Delight Ministries, an organization designed to launch, grow and sustain Christ-centered women’s communities at college campuses across the country, works with college women with a desire for deeper community on their campus.

Priding itself on creating a safe and welcoming space for college women to share their stories, Delight has helped many women seeking Christian-based friendships.

Brooke Ingram, a junior and Delight’s president, said bringing the Christian organization to TCU was a way to meet other girls similar to her.

“I wanted to start Delight at TCU because I saw a lot of girls like myself who desired a community coming into TCU that looked a lot like what Delight represents,” Ingram said.

Originally formed by Belmont University freshmen Mackenzie Baker and Mackenzie Wilson, Delight serves to invite college women into a Christ-centered community that fosters vulnerability and transforms stories, according to its website

“It is life changing to have a group of women to support each other, keep each other accountable and draw each other closer to the Lord as you are navigating college,” Baker said.

Delight seeks to meet its goal of a Christian-based women’s group through weekly chapter meetings, worship nights, dinner parties, backyard bashes and holiday get-togethers.

What once started as a Bible study of 20 women has drawn a large following amongst many campuses nationwide, including TCU junior Maggie Streelman.

“Coming to college, we have all experienced how tough it can be to find a group of friends with whom you truly connect, especially when you are seeking a Christian community of women,” Streelman said. “The relationships I have already formed in the short period of time that I have had the privilege of leading Delight are worth more than the world to me.”

The TCU chapter is one of more than 50 Delight organizations now present in the U.S.
