TCU’s Evan Skoug celebrates with teammates in the dugout after scoring against West Virginia during the third inning of a college baseball game Saturday, March 19, 2016, in Fort Worth, Texas.

TCU Baseball came in atop the rankings Thursday in the USA Today Sports preseason coaches poll, as the Horned Frogs enter the 2017 season ranked the No. 1 team in the country.

Florida, LSU, South Carolina, and Florida State rounded out the top five, in respective order.

The Frogs now own the top spot in three preseason polls for the upcoming season, already having been ranked No. 1 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and D1Baseball.com earlier in the offseason.

The national limelight for TCU is well earned, as the Frogs have made it to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska the past three seasons, the longest active streak of any team in the nation. TCU finished the regular season 30 games over .500 or better in that same stretch.

The Frogs open up the 2017 campaign when they host the Penn State Nittany Lions at Lupton Stadium on Friday, Feb. 17.
