The No. 24 Horned Frogs fell to the Kansas State Wildcats, 73-68, Saturday afternoon in Manhattan, Kansas. The game marked the fifth loss for TCU in Big 12 play.

TCU, who entered the match fifth in the NCAA in scoring with 88.6 points per game, scored a season-low 68 points in the loss.

The Horned Frogs came out of the gate slow, which proved costly for their comeback hopes. The Wildcats began the game with a 9-0 run and led by double digits for most of the first half. Kansas State also forced seven Horned Frog turnovers and kept TCU at an abysmal 35 percent field goal shooting in the first 20 minutes.

Despite TCU head coach Jamie Dixon’s ejection, the Frogs continued to fight back in the late stages of the contest. A jump shot by Alex Robinson cut the deficit to two points with just under four minutes remaining. Kansas State finished the game on an 11-6 run to seal the victory.

Robinson played the entirety of the afternoon, finishing with 13 points and a team-best six assists. The game marked the fourth time in his last five games he recorded more than five assists.

Vladamir Brodziansky finished with 15 points, marking the 16th game he’s recorded double-figures in scoring. Kenrich Williams tallied his ninth double-double of the season, totaling 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Williams’ performance on the boards was a common theme throughout the game. However, despite out-rebounding the Wildcats 33-25 on, the Frogs left with their third loss while out-rebounding their opponent.

After starting the season 12-0, TCU has lost five out of their last seven matchups, all five coming in Big 12 play.

Next up for the Horned Frogs is the No. 6 West Virginia Mountaineers in primetime on ESPN’s Big Monday. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
