TCU men’s tennis capped off a tough 3-game stretch with a victory over Columbia, 4-0.

The week of spring break could be a turning point for the Horned Frogs. TCU started the week with a 4-0 sweep of No. 17 Duke Tuesday, downed No. 12 Florida 4-3 Wednesday and then returned home for the Columbia win Saturday.

TCU (10-3) picked up the doubles point behind a 6-3 win from Trevor Johnson/Alastair Gray and a 6-4 win from No. 41 Alex Rybakov/Guillermo Nuñez who defeated Columbia’s Jackie Tang and William Matheson.

“When you are playing at home it is great to win the doubles point,” head coach David Roditi said.

In singles play, Columbia was short-handed without No. 7 Victor Pham and the Frogs took full advantage.

Nuñez picked up TCU’s second point with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 win as he improved to a perfect 6-0 this week.

No. 72 Johnson downed Columbia’s Jack Lin, 6-2, 6-2, and No. 32 Rybakov earned a huge 6-2, 6-3 win over No. 38 Jackie Tang as TCU swept the Lions.

“We are 3-0 during this spring break swing and we had our full lineup for the fourth time this whole season,” Coach Roditi said. “It shows when we have everyone out there and we are able to put up some good results.”
