TCU baseball traveled to Waco this weekend and lost all three games against the Baylor Bears, marking the third time this season they have been swept in conference play.

The team was dominated in the first two matchups, losing 6-0 and 6-2 before blowing a 3-1 lead Sunday, losing 4-3.

The Horned Frogs managed just one hit in Friday’s shutout loss, the first time they have been one-hit by an opposing pitcher since 2008.

Sophomore starter Nick Lodolo gave up five earned runs in 3.2 innings, including a four-run fourth inning that put the game out of reach.

The Bears had another strong fourth inning Saturday, scoring three of their six runs in the inning via a solo home run from catcher Shea Langeliers and an RBI sacrifice fly from shortstop Nick Loftin.

TCU starter Sean Wymer, who was coming off a start at Kansas in which he pitched eight innings and gave up just four hits, allowed six hits and 3 earned runs in 3.2 innings against the Bears.

TCU started off Sunday on the right foot, as A.J. Balta scored on an RBI single by Michael Landestoy to take a 1-0 lead.

Baylor would tie the game at one in the bottom of the third, but the Horned Frogs would answer in the fourth. Connor Shepherd drove in Landestoy on a sacrifice fly and center fielder Johnny Rizer scored from third after a wild pitch to Adam Oviedo.

The lead would not last, as Baylor cut it to 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth and overtook the Frogs in the sixth.

Sophomore reliever Jake Eissler loaded the bases with no outs before getting a strikeout for the first out of the inning.

Sophomore Cal Coughlin came in to replace him and had what looked like an inning-ending double play before second baseman Coby Boulware overthrew first basemen Connor Wanhanen.

The Bears would score two runs to take the 4-3 lead that would ultimately hold for the rest of the game.

The Horned Frogs fall to 6-8 in Big 12 play and are currently sitting at fifth in the conference standings. They will look to rebound from the series sweep when they return home to take on Stephen F. Austin Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
