FORT WORTH (TCU360.COM) – A mobile food pantry will provide groceries for 200 families at Southcliff Church in Fort Worth Tuesday.

The Tarrant Area Food Bank is distributing free groceries to families in response to the government shutdown.

Stu Cocanougher, a pastor at the church, said although the government shutdown is over, everyone still needs food.

Cocanougher said he wasn’t sure what kind of turnout to expect, but more than 200 English as a second language (ESL) students will be taking classes Tuesday night at the church so food will be distributed either way.

“We realize that there are many families in Tarrant County who will face financial difficulties,” said Dr. Carroll Marr, a senior pastor. “Providing food to these families is a tangible way that we can let them know that we care.”

Food will be available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guests should enter the south entrance of the main building located at 4100 SW Loop 820.
