Trump administration wants California rail bullet funding back

According to the New York Times, the Trump administration said it was going to withdraw funding for California’s rail from Los Angeles to San Francisco that people have been wanting for decades.

Trump called the rail a “failure” and said it is much more expensive than the “desperately needed” wall.

California Governor Gavin Newsom calls the administration’s actions “political retribution” after the state was able to get backing from 16 states via Trump’s call for a National Emergency.

California is expected to pay back $2.5 billion. Newsom intends to keep California’s money, in California.
