The legacy of the Tomlinson name will continue to live on in Fort Worth.
Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, the nephew of TCU football legend, Board of Trustee member and Pro Football Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson, officially signed his Letter of Intent to play for the Horned Frogs on National Signing Day Wednesday.
Hodges-Tomlinson committed to play for TCU on Jan. 13.
“After a great evaluation of schools recruiting me with God and Family, My next journey will be played at Texas Christian University,” he said in a tweet. “Let’s Get It!”
The three-star defensive back out of Midway High School in Waco totaled 155 tackles, six pass breakups
“Dream come true, it’s been my dream school since a kid,” he said. “[Gary Patterson] is a great coach.”
Hodges-Tomlinson said that he wanted to play at TCU because of their great reputation at developing defensive backs for the NFL.
Patterson said Hodges-Tomlinson is going to be a fan favorite in Fort Worth because of the attitude that he brings to the field.
“He’s a chip on his shoulder dude,” he said. “He’s littler in size and was told he couldn’t do a lot of things. We’re going to be pleasantly surprised with him.”

Patterson also said Hodges-Tomlinson could be a potential return specialist candidate out of the gates next season.
Hodges-Tomlinson chose TCU over Baylor, Kansas State and Iowa State.
Overall, Wednesday’s seven signees increased the 2019 signing class to 29 players. The class is ranked third in the Big 12 and No. 28 in the nation.
