Singer-songwriter Kesha, best known for hits including Tik Tok and Die Young, is expected to play for a packed crowd in the Campus Commons on Tuesday night.

Following Kesha, Ludacris will perform Friday night at the Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena after a preseason basketball event for the men’s and women’s teams.

“It is so amazing that we have these famous celebrities coming to campus for us,” said Vinnie Johnson, a junior business major. “We get these free events that I will never forget and it takes my mind off everything I have going on for a short while.”

theEnd is responsible for bringing both Ludacris and two-time Grammy award winner Kesha to campus.

Earlier this semester, theEnd hosted country singer Lauren Alaina and former SNL cast member Chris Redd.

“We do a lot of brainstorming and polls to ask the student body what talent they want to see,” said Kelly Lee, assistant director of student activities for theEnd. “We bring a variety of options to campus from music to comedy to actors and so much more. We aren’t really restricted by who we can bring, we are more limited based on budget and availability of the artist.”

Johnson said that the highlight last year was the Flo Rida concert, also hosted by theEnd.

Sophomore business major CJ Weseloh said he was surprised but pleased about the Kesha concert.

“She had a lot of hits during my childhood so it’ll be cool to hear some of that music live again,” Weseloh said.

The Kesha concert is free to all students, faculty and staff. A TCU ID is required for entry. Students may also bring one guest. There is a clear bag policy and no backpacks are allowed. The concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Campus Commons. The doors will open at 7 p.m. More information about the concert can be found on theEnds’ Instagram page.

The basketball event and Ludacris’ concert are open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m.
