TCU’s men’s and women’s track and field teams wrapped up their second outdoor invitational in College Station this weekend, delivering impressive performances across the board with 14 first-place finishes.
The highlights for the women’s team at the Texas A&M Invitational included:
Irene Jepkemboi winning throw of 57.23 meters (187 feet, 9 inches), which shattered the TCU record as well as the national javelin mark in Kenya, her home country.
A victory by the 4×100 meters women’s relay team, which ran a time of 43.66. The relay included Teanna Harlin, Mikayla Hayes, Breanna Harlin and Iyana Gray. This is the third-fastest outdoor time in program history.
Senior Ryan Engles set a personal best of 4:25.15 in the women’s 1500 meters.
Gracie Morris secured victory in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:04.15.
The Morris twins dominated together in the final day of competition in the 5000-meter race. Gracie Morris won with her time of 16:49.53 while Graydon Morris placed first with his time of 14:14.26.
Highlights in the men’s meet included:
Ryan Martin clinched victory with a personal-best time of 1:49.04 in the 800.
This follows Martin’s impressive win in the 1500-meter race at the TCU Alumni Invitational last weekend, clocking in at 3:55.52, cotinuing a strong start to his outdoor season.
Kashie Crockett ran a personal-best time of 20.64 to claim first on the men’s 200 meter.
Reese Pokluda won the men’s pole vault B with his height of 5.05m (16-6.75). This is the third-highest mark in outdoor program history.
The Frogs are headed to Austin, Texas for the Texas Relays from March 27-30.
