An 11-2 run in the second half helped the Horned Frogs men’s basketball team seal a 78-65 win against Lamar.
The Frogs got off to a hot start in the first half, securing a 13-2 lead in the first three minutes.
Lamar countered with a 15-2 run, that gave them an 18-15 lead midway through the first half.
Nine turnovers would slowed the Horned Frogs in the first half, as the Cardinals capitalized with 13 points.
Despite the turnovers, TCU went into the half with a 39-38 lead.
With TCU sluggish in the second half, Lamar posted a 52-47 lead with 15:31 left in the game.
TCU reversed course and went on a 31-13 run to end the game.
Jayden Pierre led the Frogs in scoring with 18 points, shooting 8-12 from the field. TCU had significant bench contributions from Jace Posey and Micah Robinson. Posey had 12 points and a career high eight rebounds; Robinson tagged 11 points.
TCU shot 50.9% from the field and 42.1% from three. The Horned Frogs held Lamar to 41.7% from the field and 36.8% from three.
TCU will be back in the Schollmaier on Nov.14 when they take on No. 6-ranked Michigan at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
