The Frogs and the Wildcats had tight flip-flopped wins with scores of: 30-17, 24-30, 30-23, 25-30, and 15-8.

“It doesn’t matter if we do it in three or if we do it in five,” Lewis said. “I’m very happy in general how my team is doing.”

Emily Allen, a red-shirted junior said, “We were up and down. We need to work on keeping our focus.”

Lewis said the team did a better job connecting with setter Nirelle Hampton, a sophomore, in particular Anna Vaughn, a senior middle.

Vaughn led the Frogs with 19 kills through out the match.

Lauren Otto, a freshman, had 12 kills and 12 digs for her second-straight double-double this season, according to gofrogs.com.

“I’m relieved,” Otto said , “It feels really good to win.”

Frogs want to work on is keeping their focus to maintain consistency, said Lewis.

Otto said, ” We need to take our opponent seriously.”

The Frogs don’t have a chance to practice before their next game, Lewis said.

“We need to come in tomorrow morning ready and more focused to put the points together,” Lewis said.

This was the Frogs first game in the Nike/LaQuinta Invitational hosted by TCU.

The Frogs’ next matches in the Nike/LaQuinta Invitational are Saturday. They will play Centenary at 1 p.m. and Ole Miss at 4 p.m. at the University Recreation Center.
