COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

Women’s golfer checks out for the amateurs

Junior golfer Brooke Beeler has qualified for the 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship held Aug. 9-15 in Charlotte, N.C.

Beeler shot a 71 and finished second out of 44 amateurs at the sectional in Crete, Ill. It’s the second straight year she has qualified for the U.S. Amateur.

Beeler, from Butler, Ill., was an All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2009-10 with a 75.4 stroke average. She recorded three top-20 finishes, including two in the top 10, and was one of just two Horned Frogs to play in all 12 tournaments.

TCU is one of just seven programs nationally to finish in the top 20 at each of the last four NCAA National Championships.
