COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

Music in the 109 this week, Sept. 9-15

New and up-coming bands, along with award winning bands, play in the venues in the 109, providing great music every week. The people are happy, the line-ups are entertaining, and the artists are eager to play.

For example, Big Mike’s Box of Rock plays at 11 p.m. every Tuesday at The Moon, packing the house from week to week. Mike’s Box of Rock is a cover band who plays the most popular rock songs from the 60’s to the 90’s.

Think you have what it takes? Then show us what you’ve got! Karaoke every Wednesday at Rock Bottom, and every Thursday at the Cellar.

TCU student, Rob Cavender, will play at 11 p.m. Thursday Oct. 13, at the Aardvark. At every show, Rob’s fraternity brothers, and friends are there to support his Acoustic performance.

Lonesome Heroes and Mills & Co will play at 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at The Moon. Lonesome Heroes are an Americana/ Folk band from Austin, Texas.

Kill Devil Hill, Plan 9, White Elephant, and Southern Train Gypsy will play at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at the Aardvark. Tickets can be purchased at www.frontgatetickets.com. The Kill Devil Hills won “Best Blues/Roots Act” and “Best Country Music Act” two years in a row at the WAMi Awards.

Ginny Mac, Beau Jennings, Earthquake Country, and Greg Schroeder will play at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at The Moon. Ginny Mac is a TCU Alumni, whose country voice with a touch of blues, is well known around Fort Worth.

Pearl Handle will play at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Rock Bottom. Pearl Handle is a country band from Charleston, Illinois.
