COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

TCU (13-2) swept Texas Tech (11-5) at the Frogs’ first Big 12 match at home.

TCU defeated Tech 25-17, 25-19, and 25-15 at Wednesday night’s sold out match. This marks the Frogs’ second win in the Big 12 Conference. The game also marked the first ever Big 12 Conference match at home for any TCU sport.

Right side hitter Stephanie Holland said facing Big 12 teams at home added a new level of excitement to the team.

“To get the opportunity to play great teams in our gym and then to beat them, it’s a great
feeling,” Holland said.

Holland said she thought setter Megan Munce helped propel the team forward.

“We really focused on multiple hitters this game,” Holland said. “With Munce connecting with all of us, it makes it really hard for teams to defend against us because we have so many weapons.”

Coach Prentice Lewis also said Munce stood out at the game.

“Obviously [Munce’s] serve attracts everyone’s attention,” Lewis said of Munce’s three service aces. “But she also did a good job of distributing the ball to her hitters.”

Munce finished the game with 32 assists.

The Frogs will face UT next Tuesday in Austin.
