COVID-19 impacted Sharpe's first year, but he didn't let that hold him back from achieving so much as a Horned Frog.

Men’s club soccer team ties with UTA Mavericks

The Frogs still have a chance.

After a 1-1 tie Saturday against the University of Texas at Arlington, the men's club soccer team can still secure its place in regionals.

The Frogs are now 2-2-2 overall this season and are still ranked No. 8 in the regional rankings.

Despite the continuous rainfall, Kendall Rockers put the Frogs on the board early in the first half off of an assist from Milton Geist. The Frogs maintained their 1-0 lead into the second half of the game.

The rain does change the dynamics of the game in that "you have to predict how the ball is going to react to the wet surface" and it can effect how well players perform, Rockers said.

The Mavericks delivered the game-tying goal in the last 20 seconds of the game.

"We deserved more than a tie, but sometimes soccer can be a very heartless game," Head Coach Kenneth Christensen said.

The Frogs' road to Regionals continues 7 p.m. Oct. 12 against the University of North Texas.
