Women’s basketball falls to Oklahoma 74-53

Sharane Campbell scored 23 points and made five 3-point baskets to help Oklahoma recover from an early deficit and roll over TCU 74-53 on Wednesday night.

Nicole Griffin added 11 points and Joanna McFarland 12 rebounds for the Sooners (16-4, 6-2 Big 12), who fell behind 11-0. Aaryn Ellenberg, the team's leading scorer, had seven points before leaving with a left leg injury early in the second half.

Oklahoma came back to lead 30-27 at halftime and blew the game open with a 20-1 run over a 5:15 stretch early in the second half. Campbell hit four 3-pointers during the surge, with the last making the score 54-31 with 12:48 remaining.

Zahna Medley had 18 points and Veja Hamilton 10 points and nine rebounds for the Horned Frogs (7-12, 0-8).

Oklahoma — which is among the top 25 in the country in scoring, 3-point field goals per game and 3-point percentage — shot 25 of 56 (44.6 percent) from the floor, including 13 of 28 (46.4 percent) from 3-point range.
