Mens tennis will host non-conference rival Saturday

The university's 67th ranked men’s tennis team will host non-conference rival No. 16 Texas A&M Saturday at the indoor courts of the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.

“You wont find any team more hungry to win than this men’s tennis team,” head coach David Roditi said. “We had a rough couple of seasons in the past, and this team remembers what that feels like.”

After three straight match sweeps at home, the team hoped to make A&M their fourth, Roditi said.

Sophomore Nick Chappell said the team would treat the tough rival competition this weekend no different than any other game, and staying focused during practice would be the key to victory.

A&M will travel to Fort Worth after beating San Diego 7-0, and a 4-0 win over No. 10 Stanford last weekend.

Roditi said the team had to work at improving its doubles after too many missed volleys during the game against Texas A&M Corpus Christi Wednesday night.

“If you have ever wanted to come to a tennis match, this is the game to be at,” Roditi said. “We are playing an all around great team and need all of the TCU community there to cheer us on.”

The first serve is set for 1 p.m. with live music and free food for all who attend.
