Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly spelled the name of a song that the TCU marching band played at halftime.

Six charter buses filled with TCU marching band members rolled into Arlington Sunday as Dallas Cowboys football fans packed AT&T Stadium.

The TCU band entertained a crowd of more than 85,000 at halftime at the Cowboys' first regular season game of the year. The Cowboys beat the New York Giants 36-31.

“Not many other organizations will get this kind of opportunity,” Will McLaughlin, a sophomore music education major who plays baritone, said. “It was a really great educational experience.”

Clarinet player Caleb Hendrixson, a junior music education major, said the opportunity was an excellent way to spread TCU outside the realm of Fort Worth.

Band members and TCU Showgirls took the field for halftime as drums beat and batons twirled to the sounds of a medley arrangement of "Black Dog" and "Kashmir." 

“It was a great experience,” Tacarious Peavey, a first-year marching band member said. “Once in a lifetime.”
