The TCU equestrian team will continue its three-game home stand with a battle against No. 4 Kansas State Saturday.

After a 11-9 season-opening victory over Baylor, TCU moved up three spots to No. 6 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Poll.

“It has been a privilege to watch the team prepare over the past several days,” Director of Equestrian Haley Schoolfield said. “The drive of the individual student-athletes to succeed is very strong. Their energy, enthusiasm and pride in their team is infectious.”

Although this is only the teams’ second year as Big 12 rivals, this will be the their tenth meeting all-time. Kansas State leads the series 5-4 but TCU won the previous match, 12-6, in Manhattan.

The Wildcats redeemed themselves in a 10-5 victory over TCU in the 2013 Big 12 Championship at the Animal Science Arena. They come into this weekend with a 3-1 record with a Big 12 victory over Oklahoma State.

The Frogs will look for another Big 12 triumph to improve their 2-0 record. They came out strong on the Western side last week and seek to continue their conquest in Big 12 competition this weekend.

“The girls are very excited to host K-State this weekend,” Western head coach Kindel Walter said. “Kansas State is a tough Western competitor, which makes our girls even more fired up. They are feeling great and ready for Saturday.”

Live results will be available on the official TCU equestrian twitter page. Start time is set for 11 a.m. in Springtown.

The game will also be the first Pink Out event for the equestrian program. Fans are encouraged to wear pink.
