TCU volleyball takes on Baylor at home

The TCU volleyball team will play the Baylor Bears for the second time this season on Saturday at home.

The Horned Frogs (14-11, 2-8 Big 12) swept the Bears (11-15, 3-7 Big 12) earlier in the season in Waco. Baylor leads the Frogs overall in the series 9-2, but TCU’s win over Baylor on the road marked the team’s first win in Waco in program history.

The Frogs swept Prairie View A&M on Wednesday in their last non-conference match of the season.

For the Frogs, senior middle blocker Yvonne Igodan continues to pace the offense with 234 kills on the season. Freshman outside hitter Ashley Smith is close behind with 214 kills.

Freshman middle blocker Natalie Gower set season and career records against the Bears the first time the teams met. She had a team-high 10 kills in the match, a career-high four service aces and five blocks in the win.

Sophomore setter Alexia Heist and redshirt freshman setter Trisha Langley guide the TCU offense with 524 and 383 assists on the season. Freshman libero Shane Peters leads the team defensively with 303 digs overall.

Baylor sits right above the Frogs in conference standings, but the Bears are also on a losing streak after falling to Kansas and Iowa State last week.

Senior outside hitter Zoe Adom leads the Bears offensively with 267 kills on the season, while sophomore right-side hitter Laura Jones, junior middle blocker Nicole Bardaji and sophomore outside hitter Thea Munch-Soegaard are also helping out on the attack.

Sophomore setter Amy Rosenbaum leads the team with 805 assists on the season, but freshman setter Morgan Reed has played the last few games. Sophomore libero Mackenzie Mayo leads the defensive effort for Baylor with 307 digs, putting her at No. 10 in the Big 12.

First serve is set for 1 p.m. in the University Recreation Center. Live video and audio of the match are available at GoFrogs.com.
