TCU baseball unveils new ‘anthracite’ uniforms

The TCU equipment staff unveiled new “anthracite” uniforms for the baseball team Thursday afternoon, according to the staff’s Twitter page.

The alternate uniforms are mostly gray with white numbers and purple trim, similar to the look used by the football and basketball teams over the past two seasons.

The new look makes it three years in a row that a TCU athletics team has unveiled an anthracite alternate. The football team unveiled their version in 2012 and the men’s basketball team did the same in 2013.

TCU struggled for most of last season, compiling a 29-28 record. The team also went 13-12 during conference play.

The Frogs are expected to kick off their season on Feb. 8 with the annual alumni game before opening their regular season with a three-game home series against Jacksonville University.

First pitch for the season opener is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CST on Feb. 14.
