The death of TCU senior Stewart Trese, 23, was the result of an altercation between Trese and a known aquaintance, according to Fort Worth Police.

There was apparent trauma to Trese’s body, Fort Worth Police Public Relations Supervisor Sgt. Kelly Peel wrote in an email.

The police report has listed the incident as a homicide. The full report cannot be accessed at this time because it is in progress.

The Fort Worth Police Department Homicide Unit was investigating the incident, according to Cpl. Tracey Knight, public relations officer. 

Fort Worth police have located the suspect, who is not a TCU student, University Director of Communications Lisa Albert wrote in a campus-wide email  at 9:58 p.m. Tuesday.

No arrests have been made as of 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Peel wrote. 

 The suspect does not pose a threat to the TCU campus, Albert wrote.  

Trese, a Fort Worth native, was found dead in the GrandMarc Apartments Tuesday morning. Police initially said they believed the death was a possible suicide.
