The No. 55 TCU Horned Frogs fell 4-3 Sunday afternoon at home to No. 3 Oklahoma University.

The Frogs (9-7, 0-1 Big 12) started off strong with a doubles win from No. 16 Nick Chappell and Will Stein on court one against the Sooners (17-2, 1-1 Big 12). However, TCU was unable to win the doubles point, which led to a loss of the match.

Similar to the Oklahoma State match on Friday, singles play was a back and forth trade of set wins that ended up with a 3-3 match tie. The doubles point gave Oklahoma the edge.

Freshman Trey Daniel struck first for the Frogs on court five with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Nick Papac to earn TCU’s first point over the Sooners. The Frogs then dropped a match to Oklahoma to give them the 2-1 edge.

TCU and OU then traded wins and losses and after a win from junior Facundo Lugones, 6-4, 6-3, the match was tied 3-3 with only one to go.

The decision came down to the final match between TCU junior Arnau Dachs and OU’s Guillermo Alcorta. After winning his first set 5-7, Dachs lost the subsequent sets 6-2 and 6-4, clinching the Sooner victory.

The Frogs stay home for their next match as they welcome metroplex rival Southern Methodist on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
