Once again, a strong outing from TCU’s pitchers led Horned Frog baseball to a win Tuesday night as the team shut out No. 21 Texas Tech 4-0 in Abilene.

The No. 15 Frogs held their opposition scoreless for the fourth time in five straight wins. It was also TCU’s tenth shutout this year, which is one shy of tying a school record.

Junior right-hander Jordan Kipper (6-2) pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out four Tech batters in the win.

While the Red Raiders are a conference opponent, Tuesday night’s game didn’t count toward or against either team’s conference record. TCU improves to 27-13 on the season while Texas Tech falls to 32-12.

TCU baseball is 13-1 in the month of April and only half a game behind Oklahoma State (29-12, 11-4 Big 12) for first place in the conference.
