Supporters packed a building on West Berry Street Saturday night as they waited for the final tally to determine who would be the new Fort Worth District 9 City Councilmember.

Ann Zadeh, who resides in the 109, emerged the winner in the runoff election against Ed Lasater.

Lasater had a slight lead when the early votes were announced. However, Zadeh prevailed in the end with 1633 votes to Lasater's 1399.

Zadeh will fill District 9 City Councilman Joel Burns' seat.
