Rees-Jones Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays starting Wednesday, but will be locked on weekends, said Provost Nowell Donovan and Sheri Milhollin, manager of the TCU ID Card Center.

However, Donovan said TCU students, faculty and staff will have card swipe access only in the north entrance door of Rees-Jones from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Mondays through Fridays, 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sundays.

Also starting Wednesday students will be allowed to use classrooms for studying when the rooms are not occupied by classes, events, or were previously reserved. Classrooms will be open and unlocked only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. but will be immediately locked at 7 p.m., Milhollin said.

Students, TCU organizations or faculty-sponsored events may reserve the classrooms from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through the classroom reservation link located on the registrar office homepage, Milhollin said.

Milhollin said only TCU graduate students will have card access to room 101 in the Rees-Jones Hall as study space.

Rees-Jones Hall will be closed down completely during fall break for maintenance issues that need to be sorted out, said Donovan.

“It’ll be somewhat similar to the library,” said Donovan. “We are currently hiring a security guard to patrol the building. And we will have someone in the building at all times when it’s open, just for security’s sake.”

Donovan said there will be staff to work late in the Rees-Jones Hall.
