All TCU campus organizations, departments and Fort Worth community groups are encouraged to participate in the homecoming parade on Friday at 6 p.m.

“We invite all student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni and community groups to enter the parade,” said Ali Stowe, student activities coordinator. “They can enter as a walking group, with a float, a fun car or any other creative mode of transportation.”

Typically an hour long, the parade marches around campus to build school spirit for the game the next day.

A map of the parade can be found here.

“The parade is a great way for students to show they are a part of the TCU and Fort Worth community,” Stowe said. “Lots of families and future Frogs come watch the parade and it’s great having everyone in one place celebrating school spirit.”

There is also a contest for the best float.

“After working on my sorority float for the past two weeks, I like going to see all the other fraternity and sorority floats,” senior strategic communication major Megan Jenkins said. “Everyone really goes all out.”

The panel of judges varies each year and is selected from a group of faculty and staff at TCU.

“We usually allow most participants who complete our parade entry form to be in the parade,” Ali said.

Participant’s must have a valid driver’s license and insurance and also commit to upholding all of TCU’s policies of appropriate conduct and content as they demonstrate school spirit.

In order to be considered for entrance into the parade, the deadline to complete the entry form is Thursday, Oct. 16 at 12 p.m.

Parade entry forms can be found here.
