5 Things to do this Hallo-weekend

A correction has been made to reflect the proper name of the Fort Worth Stockyard’s event “Treat Street” and the correct radio station hosting the event with Stockyards Station.

Don’t sit at home this Halloween. There are plenty of fun activities to do to make your Halloween weekend memorable.

1. The Fort Worth Stockyards are making a “Treat Street” this Halloween. On Friday night, the Stockyards Station and 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol are hosting a family-friendly Halloween Party in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. There will be a costume contest, pumpkin decorating and hayrides. The free event is open to all ages and is from 6-8 p.m.

2. After the fun at “Sweet Street,” head over to Billy Bob’s Texas to laugh with The Dan Band. There will be live music starting at 8 p.m. Friday before The Dan Band performs music and comedy at 10:30 p.m. Billy Bob’s is located at 2520 Rodeo Plaza in the stockyards.

3. If seeing The Dan Band does not interest you, maybe a different concert will. Rob Zombie is performing this Halloween at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie. This concert is sure to be a rocking good time; it may even raise the dead. Tickets are available for between $19.99 and $57.50, and the show begins at 8 p.m.

4. The Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour takes place every Friday and Saturday evening. Their tours typically run from 7 to 9:15 p.m., but this weekend will feature a late night ghost tour at 11 p.m. A real ghost hunter will run this special tour. The Granbury tours are located at 119 East Bridge Street in Grandbury. Tours cost $10 for everyone 12 and older.

5. End your Saturday night with “The Shining” in the Campus Commons. As part of the campus initiative Saturday Night Movies, “The Shining” will help students keep the Halloween spirit going. The movie will begin at 10 p.m. on Nov. 1.
